Choose your own mix of insurance for a simple monthly premium

If you’re considering taking out Travel Insurance today, please remember that it’s designed to cover for unforeseen events. Because of rolling, global media coverage, coronavirus is now a known event. This means that depending on where you travel, you may not be covered for cancellation or abandonment. To apply for Select and Cover you must be an HSBC UK customer with a bank, savings, mortgage or credit card account and you must be registered for online banking.

At a glance

  • Select from 7 different options
    Choose at least 3 options from the list below and switch choices annually as your circumstances change. You can also add and remove 1 option during each year, so long as you maintain a minimum of 3.
  • Cover your family
    Your spouse, domestic or civil partner and dependant children living with you are all covered too (under 18 years of age, or under 23 years of age if in full time education and living at home outside of term time).
  • Pay 1 simple monthly premium
    A single monthly payment of £19.50 for 3 options. Add more options and we'll adjust the price.

How we use your information

 

When you click ‘log-on’ and enter your online banking credentials to access the HSBC Select and Cover platform, HSBC UK Bank plc will securely pass your personal information to our third party provider. This is to enable the online display of the Options that are available to you on HSBC Select and Cover and to enable the purchasing and servicing of your HSBC Select and Cover policy.

Cover at a glance:

Starter Life

  • includes motor, home, pet and travel insurance claims

Simple pricing

Select and Cover costs £19.50 a month for 3 options. For every further option you add, we'll adjust the price. Here are the costs:

  • 3 options — £19.50 a month (£234 a year)
  • 4 options — £26.00 a month (£312 a year)
  • 5 options — £32.50 a month (£390 a year)
  • 6 options — £39.00 a month (£468 a year)
  • 7 options — £45.50 a month (£546 a year)

You'll see the monthly cost as you make your selections when you apply.

Flexible options

You can switch choices annually as your circumstances change. You can swap all your options during an annual review period — we’ll send you a reminder to review your options on the anniversary of your policy.

Immediate cover

If you sign up online your cover starts straight away and is continuous until you cancel your policy. So once you're covered, you're covered.

Kids included

The cover provided by each option is for you and your family, living at the address shown on your current policy schedule.

Cover for children will end on the policy anniversary after they turn 18 – or 23 if still in full-time education and living at home with you outside term time.

Excess and exclusions

You'll need to pay excess for claims on some options. Restrictions, exclusions, and Terms and Conditions apply. See the information document for each choice above for further details.
